What is the difference between an exam glove which is "chemo rated" and one that is "not chemo rated”?
The handling of chemotherapy agents presents a cytotoxic risk so workers are advised to use medical gloves which have been tested specifically for this use. Chemotherapy rated gloves must meet specific criteria as identified in ASTM D6978-05 (Standard Practice for Assessment of Resistance of Medical Gloves to Permeation by Chemotherapy Drugs).
